“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures” (Proverbs 24:3-4).

There is a home. The “Welcome” sign is manned by an elder. It is located at 123 Anywhere Street. This home is small but the attention to detail is important. The home had an area reserved for visitors to park and labelled “Visitors – Public Parking on Street only”. The detail provided an introduction of the occupants that lived in the home. From the outside this home was not just another house. There is a swing being used by one of the occupants and I could see another occupant out on the front upper balcony. I could tell that it was a home that was cared for and enjoyed. It was a joyful place where the occupants lived and learned together. Before leaving the home I was convinced that this home is a secure place to live. This home is a delightful symbol for life.

As we look to God, our Creator, we are to work on getting established. Scripture above says, we are built by wisdom, established through understanding and filled with knowledge. Through scripture, prayer and worship, God will furnish us with these rare and beautiful treasures.

Like the occupants of the home on 123 Anywhere Street, we can be filled with hope and openness. With more understanding and knowledge of God, I believe it could be as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Our Heavenly Father, thank you for the delightful places we visit. Thank you for the precious people in our lives. Forgive us for not maintaining a balance between gaining information with living life. Thank you for being our Creator and living in us. We ask for You to decorate and fill us with Your wisdom so we can welcome others.

In Your Glory and Honour. Amen.
