“The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble” (Proverbs 19:23 NIV).
As we know, we have a job to do! That job has a job description. The responsibilities of our job are life-saving. That job is to stay home; stay safe during the COVID-19. But like all jobs there are times we would rather be doing another job. Therefore, we become frustrated and the job becomes difficult. We start to experience laziness and boredom. That is when we become disruptive and unable to settle down to help meet the needs.
For some they have settled down to meet their responsibilities of the job quickly. In Proverbs 21:25 (NIV) it says “the craving of a sluggard will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work”. We are to be dedicated to whatever it is we are doing. We are to have good work habits to be well.
Do you know your job description? What qualities have you been given to succeed? Do you know who your Boss is?
Our Heavenly father, thank you for not being a boring and a difficult boss. Thank you that you have given us the needed qualities to work for You. Forgive us for not seeing our calling as being bigger and broader. We ask, what more should we be doing to succeed? Help us to use our qualities; your love and guidance to get there. For the Glory of God! Amen.
